Police arrest boy as CRPF trooper alleges attempt to snatch weapon

Srinagar, July 22 (IANS) Police on Monday arrested a boy in Srinagar after a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper alleged he tried to snatch his weapon.

Police arrested the boy from Jahangir Chowk area of Srinagar city.

Police sources said the boy claimed that he stumbled and inadvertently touched the CRPF trooper’s weapon.

“We are now checking the CCTV footage and other evidence to ascertain what exactly happened,” police said here.
