Mainpuri (Uttar Pradesh), Mar. 7 (ANI): A policeman was killed on the spot in a celebratory firing during a marriage function at Bhogaon village in Utytar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district last evening.

The incident took place when Rajendra Singh, a resident of Nagla Kullu village, had gone to Bhogaon to participate in the ‘Tilak’ ceremony’ of his soon-to-be son-in-law. At the ceremony, some people fired shots in the air in jubilation; however, one of the shots claimed Rajendra Singh’s life.

The Allau Police have registered a case under relevant sections and acts against some unidentified people and launched a manhunt for them.

The victim was posted at the Kadar Chowk police station in Badaun district.

The locals alleged that celebratory firing incidents are common to this locality as police remain indifference to such incidents.
