Johannesburg, Jan.19 (ANI): England skipper Alastair Cook has heaped praise on pace spearhead Stuart Broad following his brilliant display in his side’s seven-wicket win over South Africa in the third Test in Johannesburg, saying that it is a privilege to captain him.
The 29-year-old paceman bagged six for 17 at the Wanderers as the hosts got bowled out for mere 83 in their second innings, Sport24 reported.
Cook, who believes that Broad is still pretty young, insisted that the look in the latter’s eyes before the second innings suggested that he wanted to deliver something special.
The skipper revealed that Broad had said that if England wanted to clinch the series, they had to perform well in the third Test.
With the win, the hosts have also taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series against South Africa.
The two sides will now lock horns in the final match in Centurion, starting from January 22. (ANI)
