The actress said that the wedding date was yet to be finalised, but confirmed that would get married by early next year.
The engagement was not an ostentatious affair. Initially, it was planned as a gala event, but plans were changed because of the death of a beloved uncle. Priyamani and Mustafa had been in a relationship for the past five years. She met Mustafa during a Celebrity Cricket League event a few years ago. He runs an event management company that is involved with the IPL. The two hit it off and have been dating since then. In fact, they have holidayed together in several places, including the US.
Priyamani has worked in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films. She gained recognition after her wonderful role as a village lass in the Tamil film Paruthiveeran in 2007, which got her the National Film Award for Best Actress and the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress. During the same year, she achieved commercial success in Telugu cinema with the S.S. Rajamouli-directed Yamdonga. In 2008, Priyamani received further critical acclaim for her role as Malavika in the Malayalam film Thirakkatha, written and directed by Ranjith. She made her Hindi film debut through Mani Ratnam’s bilingual in Tamil and Hindi, titled Raavan and Raavanan respectively.
During her school years, she modelled for Kancheepuram silks, Erode silks and Lakshmi silks. When she was in the 12th Standard, Tamil director Bharathiraja introduced her to the film industry. Her father who hails from Palakkad in Kerala from a Tamil Iyer family owns a plantation business, and her mother, former national badminton player, Lathamani, who hails from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala was a manager at Union Bank.- CINEWS
