During the audio release of Pulimurugan, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal said that his film will be released in many other foreign languages as well as Hindi.
However, the producers are at the moment closely watching the box office success of the film domestically before eyeing international market as well as north India.
The film, which deals with man-animal conflict, will be dubbed in foreign languages, including Chinese, Vietnamese and English. It will also be dubbed in Hindi.
The action adventure has largely received positive reviews from the media and audience. And it is touted to be the best action flick in Mohanlal’s career that spans nearly four decades.
White directed by Uday Ananthan, had Mammootty and Huma Qureshi in lead roles. It also marked the debut of Qureshi, a Bollywood actress, in Malayalam cinema.
Though recent reports on Thoppil Joppan box office collection figures created a confusion among the audience stating it to be fake numbers by the fans of Mammootty, the director Johny Antonty has clarifyied the news.
According to trade analysts, the comedy has earned a gross collection of Rs 8.64 crore within seven days of its release.
According to these figures Mammootty-starrer has become the seventh biggest first week grosser in Malayalam after Pulimurugan, Oppam, Premam, Charlie, Kasaba and Amar Akbar Anthony.
Though the official box office collection figures of Pulimurugan is not revealed yet, it is expected to be on the top spot having earned more than Rs 20 crore within three days.
Until now, it was Mohanlal’s Oppam that was on the top spot among the biggest first week grosser with a collection of Rs 12.61 crore. It is followed by Nivin Pauly’s Premam with Rs 10.4 crore, Dulquer Salmaan Charlie with aRs 9.57 crore and Mammootty’s Kasaba with Rs 9.42 crore, within seven days.
Meanwhile, the makers of Thoppil Joppan have released the official trailer of the Mammootty-starrer on October 14, a week after the movie hit the theatres in Kerala.
The first week collection reports of Pulimurugan and Thoppil Joppan are set to hold the Kerala box office records.
Mohanlal and Mammootty’s movies have been performing well.
However, it is Pulimurugan that is leading the race at the box office. After making Rs 15 lakh on the sixth day alone with 32 housefull shows, the action thriller has made a gross collection of Rs 6,85,608 lakh on the seventh day at the multiplexes in Kochi.
The drop in the collection was due to the dawn-to-dusk hartal called by the Bharatiya Janatha Party all over Kerala on Thursday due to the killing of a BJP supporter.
Now, the Vysakh directorial is moving towards the Rs 1 crore club with the amount it rakes in from the six multiplexes in the city. The movie, which has already completed 281 shows there, has made a total business of Rs 94.80 lakh within a week of its release.
The average seven day theatre occupancy of the thriller is 99.27 percent with as many as 60,481 viewers watching it at the six screens. Meanwhile, it has also become the fastest movie to cross Rs 50 lakh mark at the Aries Plex multiplex in Thiruvananthapuram. – CINEWS
