Casting couch incidents are rampant according to reports but only a few actresses come out with their experiences in public.
A few weeks ago Tisca Chopra went public with her experience and if you read between the line it is not difficult to spot the culprit who she identified as Mr. Reptile.
Radhika Apte who is playing a controversial character in ‘Parched’ too spoke about a similar incident yesterday.
“I know also a lot of casting couch and I know a lot of people who have gone through it, I genuinely haven’t gone through it. See, I’m fortunate that I’ve never met people who have asked me to.”
That was Radhika’s initial response but as she spoke more about it, this is what she had to say, “I think once an actor in South called me on my room phone and tried to get flirtatious and I just was so rude to him. I think he fought with me later on. But anyway, I haven’t ever got a request saying that you have to sleep with us. Oh, once I got a call and they said ‘they’re doing this film in Bollywood and I want you to have a meeting with them. But would you be okay sleeping with that person?’ And I laughed! I said you’re so funny, you’re very funny and I said no I’m not. Ask him to go to hell.”
The actress earlier talked about her role in Parched, “It is her (character’s) journey of self-discovery. I don’t think I have ever played the part of a woman who has such a beautiful balance. She thinks nothing of herself so she has nothing to lose and that brings the magic in her. She is so pure and honest.” – CINEWS
