Noted Karnataka cartoonist Satish Acharya has claimed that a cartoon of his on Congress Mukth Bharath displayed on his house terrace has been forcibly removed after some local congress leaders expressed outrage.

The local Kundapur municipality in the coastal district of Udupi removed it calling it a city beautification drive. The cartoon shows Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi hiding  behind Chief Minister Siddaramiah who himself is asking to be saved and Modi approaching them menacingly. The background is of the  India map showing the only 3 states where congress is in  power.

Acharya, who lives in Kundapura, has a fixed hoarding named Cartoon Corner which he uses to regularly display some of his best works.

“I draw cartoons on all political parties. I use cartoon corner hoarding to display some of them. In the past nobody troubled me. After I had put this cartoon up, a local Congress leader called me up to suggest that I should remove it as it is offensive,” Acharya  was quoted as saying. – CINEWS
