Rahul`s temple story `concocted`, says BJP (Update)

New Delhi, Dec. 14 (ANI): In a rebuke to Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s claim that he was stopped from entering a temple in Assam, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday dubbed it as a “concocted story, based on false premises”.

“Indian National Congress (INC) Party has become the Indian National ‘Confused’ Party – ‘no sense only nonsense’. Earlier, they had claimed that they were not allowed to enter Dwarka temple in Gujarat, which was ultimately exposed. And now, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is saying that he was stopped from entering a temple in Assam. All these are concocted stories based on false premises,” said Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs.

“If the Congress Party thinks that they can take some political mileage by making such a non-issue an issue, they are having some wrong impression,” he added.

“Since the beginning, the Congress has been making a non-issue an issue and disrupting works associated with the country’s development and parliamentary proceedings on that basis.

They have a research team that digs out issues from Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa, but ultimately those issues get exposed. Then the next morning, they take up another issue,” he said.

In fact, feudal mindset is an enemy of poor’s development, and the Congress’ behaviour in Parliament is a result of this feudal mindset, he said, adding that the behaviour of Congress leaders exposes when in power its “self-goal”, and when in the opposition its “hit-wicket”.

Speaking about the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill, he said: “GST is not a BJP’s bill. It is for the country’s growth. But, the Congress does not understand that.” (ANI)
