The Canadian Hero Fund and Chapman’s Ice Cream are now running a unique Raise Your Cone Campaign, a national initiative in support of Canadian military families.
Chapman’s Canadian Cone, which features vanilla ice cream with a delicious strawberry core, topped with red maple leafs, launched in stores across the country on June 6th for the lead up to Canada Day. A portion of the proceeds raised will be donated to the Canadian Hero Fund in support of their scholarship program for Canadian military families.
. “We are proud to be Canadian!” said Penny Chapman, President of Chapman’s Ice Cream, in Markdale, Ontario. “What a great way for family and friends to celebrate – raise your cone in support of the Canadian Hero Fund.”
Social media will be the driving force of the campaign; Canadians from coast to coast are encouraged to share their support of Canadian military families using #RaiseYourCone and #CanadianCone on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. This is a unique way to celebrate Canada and those families who protect our great nation.
“This promises to be an exciting campaign and wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of a Canadian family owned company like Chapman’s Ice Cream,” said Tim Peters, President of the Canadian Hero Fund. “We hope all Canadians will join us in raising their cone this Canada Day.”
This is the first year of the national fundraising campaign and both organizations hope to see the campaign become a yearly occurrence.
