New Delhi, June 24 (ANI): Rajasthan has become the new leader in solar energy, with an installed capacity of 1,167 megawatts as compared to Gujarat’s 1000 megawatts.
Last year, the Rajasthan government had released its solar policy, which aimed at the installation of 25,000 megawatts of solar power through state or private enterprises or through public-private partnership.
After the policy release, many big private players had shown keen interest in green energy investment in the state.
The state government has also inked agreements with private companies to develop solar parks with a cumulative capacity of 26,000 megawatt, signing MoUs with power developers like Sun Edison, Adani and Reliance for generating around 14,000 megawatts of solar power. (ANI)
