After a lot of speculation about the new release date of ‘2.0’, Rajinikanth had revealed during his meet and greet with the fans that ‘2.0’ should release in April.
Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar‘s ‘2.0’ is one of the most eagerly awaited films ever.
However, the film has been delayed several times over the past few months owing to the impending VFX work.
Director Shankar wants the film to be a masterpiece and hence he is taking his own sweet time to get the film ready.
Not only did he have to reshoot a few portions, but he is also looking into every minute detail during the edit.
This meant after being postponed from a Diwali 2017 release, 2.0 could not make the January 26, 2018 date too.
However, it was soon announced that the film is going to be further delayed and hence, Rajinikanth’s ‘Kaala Karikaalan’ replaced ‘2.0’ in the same slot.
This delay is again due to the fact that Shankar is taking his time to make the film into a visual treat that fans will go gaga about.
Sources reveals, “The makers, Lyca, wanted to release the film anyhow in April. The constant delays have not gone down well with them and they have faced a few losses too. Hence, when Shankar said 2.0 would have to be delayed further, they had a huge showdown.”
“Lyca were adamant to release the film the way it was and Shankar didn’t give a damn. The fight became a clash of egos, but for now, they have resolved all the issues and decided to release the film later in the year,” added by sources.
In the film, Akshay Kumar will be seen in a new look who never seen before.
Amy Jackson is also a part of the film, while A R Rahman is the music director.–CINEWS
