New Delhi, Oct. 6 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the national conference on Anti Human Trafficking here tomorrow.
The day-long conference is being organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) along with key stakeholders like state nodal officers for anti-human trafficking, officers of Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTUs) set up in various districts, other stakeholder ministries/departments, NGOs and experts in the field of Anti Human Trafficking.
The participants will discuss issues and challenges relating to Anti Human Trafficking and ways and means to curb the menace more effectively.
The Ministry of Home Affairs had advised all states and UTs to launch a sustained campaign titled ‘Operation Smile’ throughout the country for a month in January 2015 to rescue the missing children and reunite them with their families.
Encouraged by the response of this campaign, the MHA rolled out another dedicated campaign titled ‘Operation Muskaan’ throughout the country in the month of July, 2015. A total of over 19,000 missing children were rescued during these two Operations.
The top performers of Operation Smile will be awarded during the conference by the Home Minister. (ANI)
