Lucknow, Dec. 27 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone of office-cum-residential complex of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) here on Monday.
Senior officers of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Central Police Organisations (CPOs) will be present on the occasion.
The complex will include an office complex spread over 2,720 sq metres and a residential complex over an area of 6,065 sq. metres. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sanctioned Rs.32.66 crore for the project, which is expected to be completed in 18 months. The project has been assigned to National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) Ltd, which will construct “Griha 3 Star” compound building.
An NIA branch office in Lucknow was made operational from May 20, 2012. The branch is investigating terrorism related cases and Naxal attacks reported from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
At present, the branch office is functioning from a rented accommodation in Gomti Nagar here. (ANI)
