Ranveer Shorey feels India should get over with corporal punishment

New Delhi, Oct 22(ANI): Bollywood actor Ranveer Shorey, who will be seen in ‘Titli’, feels that India should be done away with corporal punishment.

The ‘Khosla Ka Ghosla’ star feels that corporal punishment is not a way to bring a child under discipline and it is rather an utterly flawed method.

The 43-year-old actor told media while promoting his flick, “I have seen some of that violence passing on from generation to generation and sibling to sibling. That really convinced me to do this movie. Corporal punishment is something that rest of the societies have got over with but in India it is accepted to be beaten up by parents or siblings. I don’t think corporal punishment is an ideal method to teach or discipline a child. It needs to be corrected or done away with.”

Ranveer added that the main reason to get on board with the film was a personal connect to the script and the character of ‘Titli’.

‘Titli’, which is an upcoming Bollywood film, tackles different facets of the Indian society.

Directed by debutant Kanu Behl, the movie has been produced by Dibakar Banerjee along with Yash Raj Films and it stars newcomers Shashank Arora and Shivani Raghuvanshi in lead roles.
