‘Recorded speeches’ won’t help country: Kharge

Gulbarga (Karnataka), Dec. 27 (ANI): Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, the Congress Party on Sunday said ‘recorded speeches’ won’t help the country, as it doesn’t include national interest.

“Whatever the Prime Minister is speaking on his radio programme, more or less, he is repeating many things, and taking up such issues that are not in national interest. Recently, he visited Pakistan, but he did not speak about it, because it is a recorded programme. The recorded speech is not going to help the country. He should speak on day-to-day problem and how he is going to solve it. There is no importance for his ‘Mann ki Baat’ speeches,” Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge told ANI here.

Kharge further said that people are now fed up with ‘Mann ki Baat’as whatever he has promised during election, he has not fulfilled even a single promise.

“Everything is controlled by the Prime Minister’s Office. Even ministers have no power to act independently and quickly. If this is the situation, nobody can expect that development will take place,” he added.

Prime Minister Modi in his bi-monthly radio address Mann Ki Baat said his government will announce the action plan of his ambitious ‘Start-up India, Stand up India’ on January 16.

Modi also expressed satisfaction over the successful implementation of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.

Modi further urged the nation to address the persons with disabilities as ‘divyaang’, meaning divine body, saying they are endowed with extraordinary power in certain other ways. (ANI)
