Remo has overpowered Devi and Rekka down south.
The reports are that Sivakarthikeyan-starrer becomes third biggest opener of 2016 by minting around Rs 8 crore on the first day and the movie has seen substantial growth on the following days too.
Early estimates say that the Tamil movie has raked in over Rs 25 crore, which is a record-breaking number for a Sivakarthikeyan film.
“Distributors and theatre owners spoke to me confirms 100% occupancy All over. everybody makes profits. overflow comes to everyone.SO HAPPY [sic],” producer RD Raja shared his excitement on Twitter.
Rekka and Devi too have enjoyed good occupancy rates. However, the collections of these two films are no match to Remo, say trade experts.
Both the flicks have earned less than Rs 12 crore in three days.
All the three films are expected to perform well for the next few days due to Navaratri holiday season.
Fans responses on social media are divided: One said “I seen all the 3 flims honestly say means Devi is worth to watch. Remo is a remake of ”Avai Sanmugi” and Rekka is stupid flim even Hari, Lingusamy flims are better.”
”Avai Sanmugi” is a remake of Hollywood comedy Mrs. Doubtfire starring Robin Williams and a reviewer said yesterday that Remo reminded him of Tootsie.
Another fan said “Remo is good in comedy but nothing new. Usual Tamil cinema”.
Remo is a story based on a man dressed up as a female nurse to find love.
The film stars Sivakarthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh in the leading roles, while Sathish, K. S. Ravikumar and Saranya Ponvannan among others portray supporting roles. – CINEWS
