The Toronto District School Board will give elementary students a summary of their marks, it will be sent out in the mail by mid-July.
The school board had planned to provide its 17,000-plus Grade 1 to 8 students with “placement letters” amid the job action by teachers represented by the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO).
But now, the TDSB says a summary of marks, attendance and grade placement will be sent out by mid-July.
Teachers provided the marks, but refused to enter them into an electronic system as part of their work-to-rule campaign.
The TDSB had previously said it would have to input 3.4 million entries to produce report cards.
The board said it will cost $180,000 to send out the summaries.
Kindergarten students, who don’t receive marks, will be get letters advising of their placement for the upcoming school year in July as well.
