Rodgers, Smith tons propel Australia to commanding 337 in second Ashes Test

London, July 16 (ANI): Contrasting centuries from Chris Rodgers and Steve Smith helped Australia propel to a dominating 337 at stumps on the opening day of the second Ashes Test at Lord’s on Thursday.

Opting to bat first, Australia got off to a flying start as Rodgers and David Warner (38) shared a 78-run partnership before the dismissal of the latter by Moeen Ali.

Subsequently, Rodgers and Smith remained unbeaten on their respective scores of 158 and 129 as the tourists produced a tremendous performance in their bid to avenge the 169-run defeat against England in the first Test at Cardiff. (ANI)
