Johannesburg, Oct.10 (ANI): Nico Rosberg edged past his Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton to secure pole position for Russian Grand Prix at Sochi on Saturday.
The German driver, who was three hundredths of a second quicker than Hamilton, claimed third pole position of the season, Sport24 reported.
Meanwhile, Williams’ Valtteri Bottas finished third ahead of four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel’s Ferrari.
Earlier, the third and the final practice session of Sunday’s Russian Grand Prix was cancelled after Toro Rosso’s driver Carlos Sainz Jr suffered a crash during the race. Carlos’ car lost control under-breaking and speared into the barriers at the Sochi track. (ANI)
