Rustom is going strong at the box office, repeating the success story of actor’s Airlift and Housefull 3.
Trade analysts are already predicting a Rs 100 crore box office collection for the court-room drama even though it has only been on box office only for a couple of days.
On day one after release, Rustom made Rs 14.11 crore at the box office, making it the fourth biggest opener of 2016.
Day two, being a Saturday, the film had 16.44% growth in its collections and earned Rs. 16.43 cr. thus taking the total box office collections to Rs. 30.54 cr.
Akshay Kumar’s Rustom and Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo Daro are both done with the four-day weekend at the box office. While the Akshay film has managed to earn around Rs 68.23 crore during the long Independence Day weekend, Mohenjo Daro is lagging behind with around Rs 40.9 crore in box office collection, according to trade estimates. None of the two films have managed to break into the Rs 100-crore club yet but Akshay’s Rustom is said to be a cert of finally making it. Mohenjo Daro is a period drama while Rustom is a court room drama based on 50s Nanavati murder case. – CINEWS
