‘Kaalakaandi’ is a black comedy like Akshat’s previous venture as a writer, ‘Delhi Belly’.
This may come as a shocker, but director Akshat Verma of ‘Delhi Belly’ fame revealed that Fawad Khan was approached to play the lead role in his film ‘Kaalakaandi’, which now stars Saif Ali Khan.
Saif was the first choice for Akshat directorial debut but the makers were initially keen on casting the ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ actor for the same role, says the report.
As things allegedly didn’t quite work out with the Pakistani star, the film landed in the Nawab’s kitty.
The film features Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raaz, Kunaal Roy Kapoor, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Isha Talwar, Shenaz Treasury, Shivam Patil, Amyra Dastur and Neil Bhoopalam apart from Saif in pivotal roles.
