Filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala, who is writing a sequel to ‘Kick’, says he was apprehensive about the box office prospects of his debut starring Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez. Despite his worries the film became one of the highest box office hits of the year.
“As a director, I was apprehensive about the outcome of Kick. As it scored well, it is my duty to get above that expectation. They have accepted me as a big debut Bollywood director, so I should write something brilliant,” said Sajid. Sajid said he is not certain when the sequel will go on floors.
Two films lined up for release are Rangoon, starring Saif Ali Khan, Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor which will release on 24 February 2017, and an untitled project, which will be directed by Kabir Khan and will star Hrithik Roshan as the lead.
In 1992 he produced his first film Zulm Ki Hukumat starring Dharmendra and Govinda. In 1993 he produced Waqt Hamara Hai which marked the first pairing of action stars Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty. The production company produced several hit films including Jeet (1996), Judwaa (1997), Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega (2000) and Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004). – CINEWS
