In Tubelight Bollywood star Salman Khan’s Tubelight heroine is the Chinese actress Zhu Zhu who is well known in the world.
Zhu Zhu is a well-known singer and actress in China with international reputation as well. In 2005, Zhu joined the MTV China and hosted music programs on China’s domestic MTV network. Zhu signed with music label MBOX in 2007 and her first album was released in 2009. In 2010, Zhu made her film debut in What Women Want, a Chinese romantic comedy film starring Andy Lau and Gong Li.
In 2012, she played the character Qi Qi in an American martial arts film The Man with the Iron Fists, alongside Russell Crowe.
In 2012, Zhu did five films including Shanghai Calling, Secret Sharer and Cloud Atlas.
After playing minor roles in various films, Zhu received her first leading role in a series called Great Mr. Zhou. She earned critical acclaim for this performance and began to get roles in larger scale productions. In 2014, she began starring in the American TV series Marco Polo which premiered on Netflix in December 2014.
The shooting for Tubelight began in Ladakh a few days back, where Kabir Khan is already started shooting with a crew of 200.
Zhu Zhu joined the team recently.
The 32-year-old actress posted several pictures of her work trip to India on her Instagram account. “Having my first Hindi lesson,” she captioned a photo of herself taking Hindi classes in Mumbai”.
Tubelight is set with Indo-China 1962 war as the backdrop. It is a love story between an Indian man (Salman) and a Chinese woman (Zhu Zhu). Salman will be seen as a man with special needs in the film. This is the first time that Salman is playing such a role.
This is the third film Kabir and Salman are collaborating. They have earlier delivered hits such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ek Tha Tiger. – CINEWS
