Beverage maker Coca-Cola has not renewed its contract with actor Salman Khan as brand ambassador for Thums Up cola.
According to press reports, it looks like the global giant is interested in reining in some younger faces to associate with its flagship brand, popular among the youngsters.
The 50-year-old Khan with a megastar persona had been the company’s costliest ambassador.
According to two officials in the know, Coca-Cola is in talks with the younger Ranveer Singh to endorse Thums Up.
“Salman’s contract with Thums Up has not been renewed. The company is looking for a younger face,” one of the officials said.
Khan had been brought in by Coca-Cola in 2012 as face of its high-carbonation drink Thums Up. Coca-Cola had also been promoting Khan’s charity Being Human.
Salman was committed to an existing relationship with a daily TV show, which this year happens to be sponsored by a brand that competes with the Coca-Cola India product portfolio.
In light of this, both parties have mutually decided not to renew their current contract. – CINEWS
