Patna, July 25 (ANI): Stressing that the work done by scientists should be appreciated and honoured, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the former sacrifice their dreams to benefit the future generations.
“Scientists are always engrossed and lost in their work. They do not pay attention to themselves or even their families. But by sacrificing their dreams they benefit future generations by their work. Scientists should be appreciated, their work should be honoured,” Prime Minister Modi said during his address at the 87th foundation day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
“Many things are possible in a laboratory, but if it cannot be replicated in the real world then what is the use…. The extension of the mind of a scientist should be a farmer,” he added.
The Prime Minister further said that entrepreneurs in India must focus on organic farming and honey production, which are emerging as big markets around the world.
“Now the market for organic farming around the world is growing rapidly… Globally honey production is a very huge market and it doesn’t require a lot of effort to produce, it is a big opportunity,” he said.
“When I was Gujarat Chief Minister I had sent a team to USA to learn bloodless cataract surgery for cattle, it was successfully done,” he added. (ANI)
