Seedy Saturday and Garden Show in Brampton this weekend

This year’s Seedy Saturday and Garden Show happens on Saturday, March 9, from 10 am to 3 pm, in the Century Gardens Recreation Centre Auditorium at 340 Vodden Street East in Brampton.

With over 20 exhibitors, this public event aims to bring residents and visitors together to receive gardening information, share, swap and buy seeds, create gardening communities, take part in exhibits and presentations and visit the Seedy Café.

There will be five seminars held throughout the day:

· 10:10 to 10:50 am – Seed Basics 101 with Julia Dimakos
· 11 to 11:45 am – Homesteading, not just Hippies with cell phones with Sentimental Farm
· 12 to 12:45 pm – Vegetable gardening from the ground up with James Graham
· 1 to 1:45 pm – Gardening for birds, butterflies & beyond with the Toronto Region Conservation Authority
· 2 to 2:45 pm – Coyotes and wildlife in Brampton with Brampton Animal Services

This event is presented by the City of Brampton and the Brampton Horticultural Society. The Seedy Saturday and Garden Show is supported by Seeds of Diversity, a Canadian volunteer organization that conserves the biodiversity and traditional knowledge of food crops and garden plants. -CINEWS
