A sequel to the zombie comedy Go Goa Gone will happen next year, according to actor Vir Das.
Go Goa Gone was a 2013 zombie thriller featuring Saif Ali Khan along with Kunal Khemu, Das, and Puja Gupta.
After the success of the film, there were talks about a sequel with aliens as the backdrop.
“There are talks about the sequel, ideas are floating around. If it has to start then it has to be soon. I think if it happens it will happen next year,” Vir said.
Go Goa Gone was the story of three friends who, while in Goa, decide to visit an isolated island for a rave party. But next morning, they find themselves stranded and also surrounded by flesh-eating zombies.
Co-directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K, the movie was produced by Saif. Besides, there was a buzz about the sequel of Aamir Khan-produced film Delhi Belly that had Imran Khan, Vir, Kunal Roy Kapur, Poorna Jagannathan and Shenaz Treasurywala.
“I don’t know about ‘Delhi Belly’ sequel. I am not privy to these talks. It would be great to be a part of the sequels of two nice films – Go Goa Gone and Delhi Belly. Hopefully, sequels to both the films will be made sometime in my career,” Vir said.
Directed by Abhinay Deo, the black comedy was given an A certificate. Meanwhile, Vir is looking forward to the release of his next film “31st October”, opposite Soha Ali Khan.
Directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, the film, set to release on October 7, is the story of how a family fights against the odds to survive the carnage inflicted on Sikhs in 1984.
Go Goa Gone released on 10 May 2013, and was a hit at the box office. Almost one third of the film was shot in Mauritius. – CINEWS
