Mumbai, December 8 (CINEWS): Adding to her collection of differing parts is Shabana Azmi’s next character in a BBC One arrangement Capital. The performing artist plays a solid Pakistani matron whose child is blamed and imprisoned under charges for terrorism in Britain.
Giving us access on her character, Shabana says, “Capital depends on writer John Lanchester’s book by the same title. London is chronicled through the occupants of a solitary road named Pepys Road. The Asian family is integral to the plot and I play a feisty Pakistani mother whose child is bolted up for terrorist exercises. She battles back, gets a human rights legal counselor and is absolutely unafraid. She’s entertaining and tyrannical, however with a warm heart. I delighted in the work.”
Shabana has returned home with affectionate recollections of youthful on-screen character Mona Goodwin who plays her little girl in-law. “We fortified well and have stayed in contact after the shoot,” she includes.
