New Delhi, Sep 13 (IANS) BJP president Amit Shah on Sunday congratulated the students in the national capital for Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s (ABVP) win on all seats in the Delhi University Students Union elections and its comeback at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) after 14 years.
“I congratulate all the students of DU and JNU for the ABVP’s win. Its win at two prominent universities of the country is a reflection of the youth of the country towards a nationalist ideology based on ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’ and Antyodaya,” Shah said in a statement here.
“The policies of the Modi government are dedicated to the 80 crore youth of the country,” he added.
Shah also said that the DU and JNU were like “mini India”, where students come from across the country to fulfill their dreams.
“So this ABVP win reflects the thinking of the youth of the country,” the BJP leader said.
In a major boost to the BJP, RSS-affiliated ABVP made a comeback at the JNU after 14 years by clinching the students union joint secretary’s post.
The ABVP last won a post in the JNU elections in 2001 when Sandeep Mahapatra became the president by a vote’s margin.
On Saturday, the ABVP won all the seats in Delhi University Students Union elections.
