Sharif gifts ‘Majestic Pakistan’ to Lankan counterpart

Colombo, Jan. 5 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gifted the book ‘Majestic Pakistan’ to his Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickremesinghe at its launching ceremony here.

According to the Dawn, the event, organised by the Pakistan High Commission, was attended by Sri Lanka’s first lady and several dignitaries of Pakistan. A Pakistan-Sri Lanka friendship anthem prepared by the Pakistan High Commission , Colombo was also launched on the occasion.

Majestic Pakistan has been launched in English, Sinhalese and Tamil languages.

The book is a compilation of photographs depicting the beautiful scenery of different areas of Pakistan which highlights Pakistan being home to old Buddhist civilisation that is held in high esteem in Sri Lanka’s socio-religious culture.

Later, Prime Ministers Sharif and Wickremesinghe, along with other dignitaries, attended a dinner reception hosted by the Pakistan High Commission.

During his three-day stay in Colombo, ending on January 7, Sharif will lead bilateral and delegation-level talks with the Sri Lankan President, Prime Minister and other ministers. (ANI)
