New Delhi, Nov 3 (ANI): Film content aggregator and provider Shemaroo Entertainment has launched its movie premiere service Miniplex on the platform of DTH operator Airtel Digital TV.
The service launched yesterday will focus on movie premieres and other recent movies to be telecast on the Airtel Digital TV. The movie premieres will have movies that have released in theatres, but are not picked up by broadcasters. The acquisition cost of these movies is not high, which makes it easily accessible.
Addressing the media, Director, Shemaroo Entertainment, Hiren Gada said, “We have seen that apart from the top few movies of the year, audiences end up missing most movies in theatres. Very often, TV channels don’t carry many such movies and so consumers don’t have access to these movies.”
“With Miniplex, we hope to bridge this gap. In addition, we have also picked good recent movies, which may have already premiered on TV but don’t get telecast often,” he added.
Miniplex would be available on Bharti group owned DTH platform as a subscription based interactive channel, where a subscriber would have to pay Rs. 60 per month to watch selected range of recently released movies.
‘Gyansetu’, developed by C-DOT, received an excellence award for its work aimed to bridge the connectivity gaps in rural areas. Developed by state owned C-DOT, the award was given by the ‘ITU World Telecom’ 2015 at Budapest, Hungary, this month.
The product ‘Gyansetu’ is a web-based application, which facilitates the rural masses to connect with internet through local languages. It has self-explanatory large image icons and minimal texts. (ANI)
