The Jimmy Sheirgill-starrer “Shorgul” was slated to release on June 24, yet it will now be hitting screens one week prior — on June 17. Alongside Turkish actor Suha Gezen the film likewise stars Ashutosh Rana, Sanjay Suri, Eijaz Khan, Hiten Tejwani, Narendra Jha and Aniruddh Dave and depends on the issue of bigotry.
It is inspired by real-time incidents that are set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh. Directed by Jitendra Tiwari and P Singh, the music is scored by Lalit Pandit and Kapil Sibal has penned the lyrics.
Recently , a PIL was recorded against the motion picture, created by Swatantra Vijay Singh and Vyas Verma under the flag of 24 FPS Films Production, for professedly having certain scenes that can exasperate social concordance. However, the petition had been squashed and the makers are ready to release the film before its actual release date.
Singh says, “In light of the recent controversies, we would not like to jeopardize the film’s fate, as it has strong content and gives out a social message. We are certain the movie will bring out the reality of politics and power play. Moreover, we don’t want a clash with ‘Udta Punjab’ since both the films have a solid message to give out and releasing them on the same day will dilute the bigger picture.” – CINEWS
