The Festival of Globe (FOG) in Silicon Valley will premier a Bengali film based on a fictional version of a murder mystery.
FOG is one of the biggest festivals for the Indian diaspora in the US.
Directed by Agnidev Chatterjee, the film Dark Chocolate include Bollywood actress Mahima Chaudhury and actress Riya Sen in key roles. Actors Rajesh Sharma, Mumtaz Sorcar, Indrashis Roy, Kaushik Sen and Sudip Mukherjee are also part of the cast.
Chaudhury, who will be the guest of honour at the premiere, said: “I am quite excited about the entire thing.”
Chaudhry plays Ishani Banerjee, a character based on Indrani Mukherjea, who is accused of murder, while actress Riya Sen will play Rina Bardhan, a role inspired by the short life of Bora. Media baron Peter Mukherjea will be played by Sudip Mukherjee.
The Bora murder case gripped the nation following Mukherjea’s high-profile arrest in 2015 for the murder of their daughter. – CINEWS
