48-year-old singer will be recognised for her 36-year career at the upcoming ceremony by becoming just the fifth person to receive the prestigious accolade, following in the footsteps of Neil Diamond, Stevie Wonder, the late Prince and Jennifer Lopez.
Dion, whose cherished spouse Rene Angelil and sibling Daniel both passed away due to cancer this year , choses Queen song to perform at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and BMA Executive Mark Bracco thinks the song is a fitting decision. “Celine Dion has a big collection of monster hits and she actually chooses to perform ‘The Show Must Go On ‘ as her Icon performance on the Billboard Music Awards . I think at this moment in her life, the song has many meanings and it’s an amazing choice,” Bracco said.
