Talk of the legendary singer Janet Jackson being pregnant first surfaced in early April, after the artist postponed her tour and told fans via video that a “sudden change” was to blame.
“I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family. So I’m going to have to delay the tour,” 50-year-old Jackson said in a statement on camera.
The wording got fans talking, of course. Could Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana be expecting their first child? Despite Janet’s advanced age?!?
“Please, if you can try and understand it’s important that I do this now,” Jackson added.
“I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can.”
This seemed to absolutely solidify the pregnancy, but it wasn’t until a month later when reliable outlets confirmed the news.
And it wasn’t until today that Jackson herself confirmed the news.
“We thank God for our blessing,” Janet told People in an exclusive interview, which includes a photo of Jackson and her baby bump.
Over the last few months, the legendary sister of late icon Michael Jackson has kept a low profile, although she was recently spotted shopping for baby items at London’s Back in Action furniture store.
