The 25-year-old made her Bollywood singing debut with 2013 film Singh Sahab the Great.

“There’s no pressure. But there’s a responsibility. I feel responsible because I have a great family legacy to take forward. My brother is an idol to so many. My father himself is a great musician so, I need to continue that thing,” Teesha.

“I feel blessed to be a part of the family that has this level of music enthusiasm. It gives you even more confidence.”

Teesha will release her first single Katna Nai, establishing herself as an independent artiste and she says she is keeping her fingers crossed.

“This song is originally sung by Sajjad Ali. I wanted to come up with a modern version of it as I thought it’s a perfect song to start your career as a single.

The singer said Sonu helped her a lot while making of Katna Nai, “He was totally involved in the making of this song. He also gave his inputs and helped me on variations. It was like a family thing.”

Though her brother has sung for almost every male actor, Teesha would like to give her voice to Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt.

Teesha never expected be a singer. She started her career with the film “Singh Saab The Great” as a playback singer.

At first she had to choose two films “Sooper Se Ooper” and “Singh Saab The Great”. She was actually auditioned to check if her voice worked for the tracks and fortunately, it did. She said that the credit goes to Anil Sharma, who has believed in her voice and singing talent. – CINEWS
