New Delhi, Jan.13 (ANI): The Congress Party on Wednesday lashed out at Islamabad after Afghanistan Police confirmed that Pakistan Army officers were behind the January 3 attack on the Indian consulate in Mazar-i-Sharif and said the neighbouring nation does not want to see peace with New Delhi.
“What the Afghan Police chief and the deputy police chief has told is nothing surprising. Pakistan definitely does not want to see peace with India and we are overlooking this crucial fact,” Congress leader Manish Tewari told ANI.
“Pakistan is the source of instability and source of terror, both to India and to Afghanistan from many years now. What has today happened in Quetta and Afghanistan is unfortunate,” he added.
The party’s reaction comes after incidents of blasts were reported in Jalalabad (Afghanistan) and Quetta (Pakistan).
According to reports, at least four policemen have been killed and three children injured in a suicide bombing near the Pakistan consulate in Jalalabad’s capital city of Nangarhar in Afghanistan as the gun battle continues.
Meanwhile, at least 14 people, including police personnel, have been killed and several injured in another blast near anti-polio centre in Quetta’s satellite town in Pakistan. (ANI)
