Lugo (Spain), Sep 14 (IANS) A 62-year-old Spanish woman will give birth to a baby girl one month from now after undergoing in-vitro fertilization treatment.
The woman — Lina Alvarez, said she is very happy, Efe reported on Wednesday.
Alvarez, who is going to be a mother two decades after having gone through menopause, told EFE that she is scheduled to give birth in mid-October by caesarean section to avoid any risks associated with her age.
She believes that her third time as a mother is a reward for everything that has happened in her life after her oldest child, who is now 27 years, was born with cerebral palsy.
Despite not having a partner, she went through the process of artificial insemination to have her second son, Samuel, who is now 10 years old.
Ten years later, she decided to undergo the same procedure to give her children a sister.
