Johannesburg, Nov.24 (ANI): World number one golfer Jordan Spieth has expressed that he is excited about the sport’s return to the Olympics and said that he is treating next year’s mega-event as a ‘fifth major’.
The American golfer, who won Masters and US Open back-to-back earlier this year, is expected to lead a four-strong American attack in the 60-man field at the Rio Games.
Spieth said that winning a gold medal was also his priority besides winning a major championship, Sport24 reported.
The 22-year-old sporting marvel said that he was hoping to compete in the Olympics and meet incredible athletes from around the world and insisted that they were going to approach it as a fifth major.
Golf will make a return to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro next year after a hiatus of more than a century. (ANI)
