Johannesburg, Sept. 8 (ANI): Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt has ruled himself out of the rest of the season after his triple gold medal success at last month’s world championships in Beijing.
The six-time Olympic champion has had an injury-disrupted season but still claimed all three sprint titles for the fifth time at a major global championships, Sport24 reported.
“After the excitement of the past few weeks at the World T&F (Track & Field) Championships in Beijing I have decided not to race again in 2015,” the 29-year-old wrote on his Facebook page.
Bolt also said that he was happy to end the season without any injuries, adding that he was already thinking about the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio where he would attempt to defend his titles in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m.
The decision means Bolt will miss Friday’s Diamond League finale in Brussels. (ANI)
