Melbourne, Dec. 28 (ANI): Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena has expressed his displeasure and angst after his country’s crowd had a ‘negative experience’ in an Enrique Iglesias concert, saying that the organisers of the event should be ‘beaten with toxic stingray tails’.
Live Events, owned by Mahela Jayawardena and Kumar Sangakkara, admitted that security had ‘failed alarmingly’ and issued apology for the chaos occurred in the one-hour concert, where intoxicated local women threw their bras at the singer and tried to embrace him.
Without mentioning the Sri Lankan stalwarts, Sirisena said that he was not in favour of beating the uncivilized women who removed their brassieres, but added the organisers of the event should be given the same punishment, News.com.au reported.
“Although we know an apology or refund cannot fully satiate your disappointment, we wish to reiterate that we remain fully committed to all of you and our country,” the cricketing duo said.
“A full and thorough internal inquiry is ongoing into all areas of concern,” they added. (ANI)
