Ajnala (Punjab), Jan. 10 (ANI): In a blood-curdling incident, a pack of street dogs killed a three-year-old boy in Punjab’s Ajnala town.
Angad Veer, only child of his parents, was on his way back home on Friday evening after playing with his friends in his neighborhood when a pack of stray dogs attacked him.
Hearing the child’s scream, residents rushed to the spot to rescue him, but ferocious dogs, which were in big numbers, attacked them too.
By the time more people came in with sticks and managed to rescue the boy, he was badly wounded. There were bite marks and scratches all over his body.
The boy was rushed to an Ajnala hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
While the parents of the boy were left heartbroken, the furious villagers alleged that the authorities failed to keep the growing population of stray dogs under check despite rising cases of dog menace. (ANI)
