New Delhi, Sept. 4 (ANI): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday said that Swayamsevaks are sensitive to matters related to unity, integrity, internal security and external security of the country, and added that a strong society and adoption of correct policies are key to addressing such issues.
“Main discussions were held on unity, integrity, internal security and external security of the country. Swayamsevaks are aware of these matters and sensitive to these issues. There are several issues concerned with country’s internal security like cross border terrorism, Maoism, and violence. RSS workers have always believed that society should be strong and the Government should also adopt correct policies to face these problems,” RSS Joint General Secretary, Dattatreya Hosabele, told media on the sidelines of the RSS-BJP coordination committee meeting here.
Stressing on development reaching the nation’s rural areas, Hosabele said people are leaving villages due to lack of facilities.
“Another main issue is that people are leaving villages nowadays due to lack of medical facilities, education and employment opportunities…Workers shared their ideas on what should be the economic model so that rural life can be made better.. What should be the development model, how to strike a balance between conserving environment and work for development,” he said.
“We discussed about the need of policies to ensure social security and the right of the weaker sections of the society to live with dignity..Swayamsevaks who are active in various walks of life had come to share their thoughts and give inputs so that coordination will be better,” he added.
He also expressed satisfaction over the BJP-led government’s work since coming to power.
“14 months have passed, there is a lot more to do, the Government is moving in the right direction, is committed and the achievements are good,” he said.
Hosabele further expressed confidence that the deadlock over OROP will be resolved soon.
“BJP President Amit Shah said that the Government will resolve this matter soon and we are confident this matter will be solved expeditiously… Humara vishwas hai ho jayega (We believe it will be done,” he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Madhyanchal Bhavan this evening to attend the RSS-BJP coordination committee meeting.
Today is the final day of the three day meeting.
Several political parties raised eyebrows over cabinet ministers attending the meeting, with Congress asking whether key ministers of the NDA Government were accountable to the nation or to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). (ANI)
