Striker Caicedo to miss Espanyol’s tour in Indonesia

Barcelona, July 16 (IANS) Espanyol striker Felipe Caicedo will not travel to Indonesia in preparation for the new season, the Spanish football club said on Sunday.

The Spanish club announced that the 28-year-old Ecuadorian had permission not to travel on Monday for personal matters, reports Efe.

Espanyol will also miss the efforts of midfielder Paco Montañes and injured Victor Sanchez and Pablo Piatti, who will continue their recoveries in Spain.

The squad called for the Asian tour included: Pau Lopez, Aaron, Manel Royo, Mario Hermoso, David Lopez, Lluis, Correa, Javi Lopez, Marc Navarro, Diop, Marc Roca, Javi Fuego, Granero, Puado, Jurado, Melendo, Sergio Garcia, Gerard Moreno and Leo Baptistao.

Espanyol finished eighth in La Liga last season.
