Gurgaon, March 7 (IANS) In an effort to spread the message of world peace through music, a one-day music fest will bring together seven bands from India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Pakistan.
Seagram’s 100 Pipers is gearing up to present the fest 100 Pipers – Nations for Peace at the DLF Cyber Hub here on Saturday.
It is an extension of the Seagram’s 100 Pipers Play for a Cause philanthropic initiative under which artistes from across India sing and play for various social causes like sponsoring meals for the underprivileged.
“Music is a very strong medium to bring together people of all kinds and the power of music connects communities across countries. We have brought together the best musicians from these countries as brand ambassadors of peace and this deed of theirs will always be remembered for good,” Kartik Mohindra, business head – International Brands – Pernod Ricard India, said in a statement.
The bands featuring in the fest are Indian rock band Parikrama, electronica-folk duo Hari and Sukhmani, Abhaya Subba of the Steam Injuns from Nepal, LRB (Love Runs Blind) from Bangladesh, Druk Revival from Bhutan, Pakistani veterans Noori, and Paranoid Earthling from Sri Lanka.
