New Delhi, Nov.21 (ANI): Accusing the Congress Party of being an ‘anti-national’ organisation, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Saturday said that the grand old party is creating an alliance with the terrorist organizations, having links with Pakistan’s ISI, just for the sake of political gains.
“Everyone knows what Punjab went through in the 80s. Those fifteen years of militancy, disturbance, where thousands of Punjabis were killed, there was communal as well as full disturbance of peace in the state of Punjab,” Badal told the press conference here.
“Everyone knows how it started and in order to fight Akali Dal, the Congress encouraged certain elements which then went out of control and that led to full 15 years of disturbance in Punjab which even threatened the nation’s integrity. Today, Congress under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi is trying to create the same environment in the state of Punjab,” Badal said.
He also accused the Congress Party for creating an alliance with the terrorist organizations, having links with Pakistan’s ISI, just for the sake of political gains.
“The Congress is showing its true colour and it is an anti-national party,” he said.
A delegation of Punjab Congress leaders led by party vice-president had earlier met President Pranab Mukherjee and submitted a memorandum urging him to initiate a judicial probe into the killing of two persons in recent protests over alleged desecration of Guru Granth Sahib.
Rejecting the CBI probe ordered by the Punjab government, the Congress leaders demanded an inquiry to be conducted by a sitting Judge of the Supreme Court. (ANI)
