Patna, Dec. 23 (ANI): BJP leader Sushil Modi on Wednesday welcomed the central committee’s move to suspend Darbhanga MP Kirti Azad for his anti-party activities.
“I am happy that central leadership has taken action against Kirti Azad. Bihar BJP welcomes this step,” Modi told ANI.
When asked to respond as to why the BJP didn’t take any action against disgruntled MP Shatrughna Sinha, the Bihar BJP chief said, “action will be taken against all those party leaders who have been meeting opposition leaders in election.”
The BJP today suspended Azad, who was in the line of fire for his tirade against Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the alleged scams in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).
“Kirti Azad, Darbhanga MP, is suspended from party with immediate effect for his anti-party activities,” Arun Singh, BJP, National Secretary, said in a statement.
Azad had defied the party chief and went ahead with a press conference on Sunday highlighting corruption allegations linked to the DDCA of which Jaitley was the president for 13 years till 2013.
However, the former test cricketer, called it the party’s ‘misfortune’ if they have suspended him for fighting for the truth and upholding the anti-corruption morals of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. (ANI)
