The recital will take place at the Rose Theatre in Brampton, Ontario from 2 to 5 pm on September 25, 2016. Students of all ages from 4 to 40+, beginners to diploma holders will perform under the expert guidance of their Guru Shilpa Save. All dances are conceived and choreographed by Shilpa Save.
Speaking about the theme and concept of the recital, Shilpa Save, founder and teacher, Taal Academy, says, “This year’s recital draws inspiration from Lalit Kala or the 6 fine arts recognized in Indian culture—dance, drama, music, painting, sculpture and literature. We can admire each art by itself and for itself, but when it combines with other art forms, it takes us as patrons and lovers of art to a whole new level of enjoyment and happiness. Indeed, art is a reflection of truth, divinity and eternal beauty. “Pratibimb” or Reflection is the theme of our show this year and we will be presenting Lalit Kala or the fine arts through Kathak.”
Founded in 2002 by Ms. Shilpa Save, Taal Academy is dedicated to excellence in Kathak. It currently has close to 150 students pursuing the Indian classical dance form of Kathak. The Bi-Annual Recital is a platform for students to come together and showcase their learning through a varied ensemble of performances.
