Taapsee Pannu who earned rave reviews for her acting in Pink is now gearing up for the release of her film “Ghazi” which she says will be one of its kind.
“I am very proud to be a part of that film (‘Ghazi’). It’s going to be one of its kind… India’s first submarine film based on a real incident of how the (Pakistani) Ghazi submarine was sunk,” Taapsee told said.
The film is directed by Sankalp Reddy. It also stars “Baahubali: The Beginning” star Rana Daggubati.
It is described as India’s first submarine film .
Talking about her role in “Ghazi”, the 29-year-old actress said: “I play a Bangladeshi refugee and the film is due to release soon. I think it is undergoing some graphic work… It is the only period film I have done so far.”
But it is unlike other period dramas, she said. “It is not a regular costume drama period film. It is something really interesting,” added Taapsee.
Taapsee, model and actress, mainly works in the South Indian film industry, though she has started appearing in Bollywood films since late.
After a short stint with modelling, Taapsee made her acting debut with the 2010 Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam. Since then, she has appeared in a number of critically acclaimed films such as Aadukalam, Vastadu Naa Raju and Mr. Perfect.
Her Tamil film Aadukalam won six National Film Awards at the 58th National Film Awards. She has also worked in a Malayalam film. – CINEWS
