Jakarta/Tokyo, Jan. 6 (ANI): Japanese leading info-communications technology provider company, NEC, provides smart payment system at a shopping mall in Indonesia.
“We have business history here in Indonesia more than 50 years and also having the huge experience in Japan and other countries. We have very good knowledge about mall business. NEC’s cloud based e-money solutions provides easy and smart shopping experience to the visitors at the food court,” said Takayukikano, president director, PT NEC Indonesia.
“The benefits from this solution are very positive to us. It increases the convenience to the customer, the cash-less payment solution contributes to tenants for easy operations and sanitations at food court,” said Daisuke Isobe, Mall Operation Department, PT AMSL Indonesia.
NEC also provides integrated solutions for shopping mall management and marketing such as a visitor’s trend analysis. The passer counting system visualises the movement of the guests and crowed areas. The CCTV captures customers images at every each gates, and monitored at central security control.
“The CCTV image recognition system provides information of the customers such as gender and ages for our marketing analysis purposes. AEON mall has decided to open 3 malls and planning 20 malls, aiming the continuous growth of retails in Indonesia,” he added.
The first Japanese shopping mall in Indonesia, “AEON mall BSD” was opened in Tangerang, the suburb of Jakarta in May 2015.
Retail business, including hotels and restaurants, is Indonesia’s largest single sector, contributing 16 percent of GDP in 2011. The retail sector, which employs 22.5 million people, has become the second largest employer in the country.
Takayukikano also said a robot tractor is being developed in Japan which leads to double productive effect.
“In Japan, the agriculture sector is facing labour power and is compelled to transform to modern agriculture. Farm tractor’s big company YANMAR has developed robot tractor. It is named ROBOTORA. It enabled driverless operation utilising GPS,” Takayukikano, president director, PT NEC Indonesia said.
“ROBOTORA is operated by accompanying tractor. In accompanying tractor operator controls ROBOTORA by tablet device. Cultivation is undertaken by both tractors. It enables double productive effect. One worker operates two tractors. It cultivates double ridges in the field. ROBOTORA is expected to compensate lack of labour power of agriculture. ROBOTORA is under experiment of practical use. It is paid attention from all farmers in Japan,” he added.
Applying Robot technology to agricultural field is also undertaken by cooperation between administration and private sector. Utsunomiya University developed strawberry picking robot 10 years ago. Afterward it is improved to harvesting strawberry robot. It differentiates the bad or good crop and also packs strawberries.
“We aim to realise distribution and export of high quality strawberry. It means development of high quality product and high quality technology. The robot distinguishes size and color of strawberry by camera. After recognition whether that strawberry is suitable to be picked up or not it executes picking,” Yoheitakahashi, a graduate student of Utsunomiya University said.
“To execute stable recognition of colour this robot is equipping function to set appropriate colour. The use of robots will transform the farming sector in the world,” he added.(ANI)
